Hours to Go and the Big Reveal

There's only a few hours left! (insert squeals of writer joy and excitement)

November is but hours away and I cannot wait to get started on my novel!

....okay, maybe I can.

Last night, as I was thinking through last minute details that needed tweaking, I stumbled into a very very large plot hole. It was one of those little details that I had allowed to grow out of proportion and even worse, it is only mentioned in the first couple pages. That's it. You never hear of it again. But it is so vitally important to my plot that it became a huge hole in my plot!

I know, some of you could care less seeing as you haven't even heard my plot yet. ...Okay most of you haven't heard my plot yet, but it's still a problem!

Lucky for me I finished up some last minute details in my "normal life" to where my November is officially free. I have nothing planned for daily activity. Just occasional plans outside of my home (which is why I'm glad writing is a portable career). So this leaves the rest of my time to fix the plot hole and write!

Okay, I promised you guys a plot summary a couple days ago. I got approval from my bestie (no, she's not biased. She is a reader and therefore has good input) and can now reveal it to you all! So without further ado (insert drum roll here) my NaNoWriMo Plot Summary!

Camelot Reborn
"Camelot is fading. King Arthur has passed and Merlin has long since gone. While reading through his master's notes, the last apprentice of Merlin comes across a prophecy that had not been spoken of. A prophecy that foretold of Camelot's glorious rebirth along with the rebirth of King Arthur and Merlin. Thousands of years past and Camelot became nothing but legends and stories. At least, that's what we were all made to believe.

17 year old Jessi Storm was preparing for a horse competition in England when she stumbles into a portal that takes her to two new worlds that have ties with the ancient kingdom of Camelot and most importantly, the prophecy that would bring it back. Jessi is in awe of the worlds and those that live in them, but when the prophecy of Camelot's rebirth is brought back into light, she quickly finds that they are more dangerous than she thought.

An ancient evil power has returned and is focused on one thing: destroy the chances of Camelot's return.

Jessi is now head deep in the middle of the conflict and whether she likes it or not, she could be the key to saving or destroying the prophecy."

Comments? Questions? Any other writers currently biting at their nails or chomping at the bit to get at November? Leave them below!

Next time you hear from me I'll be deep into my novel! And if you do hear from me...that usually means I've hit a wall. Anyways, until then...see ya!

Week Zero

Hello all! I'm back and have exciting news to share with you.

It's Week Zero!!!!

Okay, so maybe I should explain why that's so exciting.
Week Zero is the week of NaNoWriMo. We are down to a matter of days before the chaos of writing begins. This means I get to start writing my novel very, very soon, which excites me very, very much.

On the flip side of the excitement, there is panic. For every NaNo participant there is that slight panic as we reach the days before Day 1 and that is this - The Planning Panic.
The planning panic starts in the beginning October where we begin to wonder things like: "Is my plot ready? Do I even have a plot? What about my characters? Do they have a back story? Do they need a back story?!" and so on. We tend to over think during the planning panic, as we don't want to hit Week 3 and suddenly we hit the wall of nothingness.
("wall of nothingness" - a wall in which writers hit during Week 3 of NaNoWriMo where they do not know where to go with their story, nor do they know if they should continue writing. This is where the Inner Editor tends to prey on helpless writers.)
But, the good news for all of those who have friends that are taking part in NaNoWriMo is this insanity does not last forever. The bad news, though, is it will last until the writer is comfortable with their novel plot, characters and whatnot or until November is here. Usually it's the latter.

Whatever the case, Week Zero is a nerve bending week. This year, I'm excited about getting to Day 1! I will hopefully have time in the middle of preparing for November to post my plot summary here so you all can see it (of course there are a few people that need to see it first....so you'll see it around the Wednesday/Thursday mark).

Currently in my writing journey, I am in the post outlining phase. I have finished plotting out important chapter moments and my characters are mostly squared away. I have to write out a bit more on them, find important Scriptures that will help pull them together and finally, make sure I'm freed up for November.

So what about you guys? What are you doing this Zero Week? Are you prepping for NaNoWriMo? Working on something else? School projects? Let me know down in the comments!

See you all next time!!

Reviving the Blog

Soooo, it's been a little too long since this blog has been used. I apologize, but I have been busy lately....ya know graduating high school and stuff.

Anyways, with this blog being open for business again I'm going to focus my posting more from updating on my crazy life to my writing adventures. For example, something you'll be seeing in the near future is posts on my journey through my fifth year of NaNoWriMo! (which I'll explain a little bit more of later)
I'm excited about what I'll be posting and I may actually find like minded people out there! (which would be awesome)

Alright, so to explain some upcoming posts: NaNoWriMo Journey. NaNoWriMo is National Novel Writer's Month and it takes place every year in November. This is an event heard around the world as writers and non-writers alike come together with one goal in mind: Write a novel of 50,000 words in one month. Sounds crazy right? What if I told you I did this crazy thing 4 years in a row (losing only once and lowering my goal only once)? Yep, I have 4 novels currently sitting on my hard drive and no, they are not leaving this hard drive. This year, on the other hand, may be a bit different. I'm excited about this year's idea and if it all goes well, it may turn into something of worth! I'll post my idea/plot on here later when I get it just right. Until then, if you want to check out NaNoWriMo yourself, go here or if you're under 18 go here. You'll be glad you did!

If you want to hear anything specific from me, post in the comments!
If you want to hear from a character (not related to any novel I'm currently working on), check out my other blog here!

Thanks for reading! I'll post again soon! :)

Catch Up From Insanity!

So I haven't posted since January and a lot has changed since then. I know there's probably only one or two people reading my posts, but hey whatever works. Ok onto updates!
First thing the Brazil mission trip was AMAZING! I had an amazing time there and I can't wait to go back next year and hopefully with my sister this year! Second, my Sweet 16 was this year and my best friend surprised me by coming down to spend time with me :) Best Birthday EVER! Finally, I spent three weeks of my summer with the same best friend! One week in Daytona for a BigStuf camp, one week at her home in Georgia and one final week with her back home with me. :)

So enough with the updates on my life, here's what's coming up in writing world!

If you didn't know about this before, know now! Bryan Davis (Favorite Christian author!!!!) is going off on tour and is going to start writing the second book in his new series called Children of the Bard very soon. His tour begins September 13 and all his stops are listed on his blog which is right here --> http://daviscrossing.blogspot.com/ so go check out his map and see if he's coming to your town!

Also, if you enjoy reading unpublished yet amazing undiscovered gems you may want to check out Wattpad.com! I've been on there for several weeks and found all sorts of amazing stories! You can also upload your own stories for many others all over the world! Check it out here! http://www.wattpad.com/

As if you didn't realize, it is now September. But I bet some of you didn't know that coming up in less than two months is my favorite time of the year. That's right folks, NaNoWriMo is coming!! If you have no idea what I'm talking about here's what it is in a nutshell: NaNoWriMo is a challenge for all writers and non-writers to try their hand at creating a 50,000 word novel within the month of November. Its so much fun and I'm planning on doing the youth program again this year! If you're interested in either the adult or the youth program of NaNoWriMo check these websites out! http://www.nanowrimo.org/ & http://ywp.nanowrimo.org/

Well that's all for now folks! I may be back some time soon with just some random bursts from my life, thoughts and writing as well as others writing! Stay Tuned! =D

Hello 2011!!!!

So I haven't updated since December 19, 2010. I really didn't mean to do that very sorry. O_o
Onto the update!
So recently many things have changed.
1. I have glasses! FINALLY!!! I can now see much better than I used to!
2. Starting to get over some kind of cold or something weird
3. Brazil mission trip is coming up!!!
So as you can see many things have happened since my last post. Now for the New Year I am super excited! So many things are happening and I'm very excited! Please keep my Brazil trip in your prayers. I have been finding it hard to get the things I need done when I need my parents help to get it. I think Satan is trying to attack and I sure hope that I can still go. In other words doubt has shown up at my door. Let me know if there's anything I can pray for you as well!

As for my writing I am going back and forth as normal from different writings and I have been reading a lot of other stuff too!
Anyways I hope that you guys had a great New Year and that some how in some crazy way God has already shown up this year for you :)

Antigone & Christmas

Hey guys! I'm back again with another round of thoughts from my mind.

First things first, in my English class I have an Honor's assignment that involves reading an old Greek tragedy called Antigone by Sophocles and can I just say that I hate this play! I'm sure some people really like it, but I don't really like it. I have had to do this assignment 3 times and I am still waiting on the grade. *sigh* Yep not really feeling like doing this one again.

On a joyful note Christmas is Friday! Getting excited, but wondering where the heck the year went! Christmas 2010 is different than 2009 I can tell you that. For one thing my biggest Christmas gift would be to go to Brazil and the second thing is that I have started writing a Modern Day Christmas Story. Yep, I got the idea and decided to take the risks. I'm enjoying writing about my favorite story and figuring out exactly what would have happened if Jesus was born in today's world.

Well I guess that about wraps this blog up! Thanks for reading my blogs and have a very Merry Christmas!

Back From the Insanity!

Hey guys! Sorry about not writing on here for a little while! I was a little busy writing my Nanowrimo novel, but hey I FINISHED IT!!!!! That's right over 50,000 words are done and ready to be edited! Now that November is gone a cool (or should I say cold?) breeze has hit here at my house. Yep, its December. Christmas, fun activities, and more writing to be done! As for this week I'm moving like crazy to get a lot of stuff done! Working on school all week, I have band and choir this Friday, and then serving on Saturday to get some money for my mission trip to Brazil! Yep I'm going to Brazil! I'll have to do a whole separate post on that! Anyways hope this tides everyone over until my next blog! Blog ya later!
